A Cozy at Home in South Tampa Newborn Session

Oh sweet Dylan, what a precious girl you are! Lydia + Ryan welcomed their little girl Dylan in late January, and two weeks later I was capturing them in their South Tampa home for the first time as mom and dad. One of my favorite parts about newborn sessions is getting to watch first time mom and dads navigate the gentleness of a newborn, and to see them absolutely glowing despite the many sleepless nights that came before our session. Without fail, regardless of the sleepless nights, the super-hero moms out there always look radiant, and like they didn’t skip a beat.

What’s great about newborn sessions in your own home is that you get to feel totally comfortable, and I PROMISE you that dishes in the sink, laundry on the couch and clutter that hasn’t been picked up is absolutely normal, and it is the zero-judgement zone from me! When I enter your home, I am there to be a safe space, and to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable experience while we capture the tiniest fingers and toes of your littlest love.

We started this newborn session in Dylans nursery, which was a neutral dream with natural light coming right in the window. I like to capture not only your little ones and you, but also some of the features of the nursery, because it’ll only be like this for a short time, and you want to remember exactly the way it was when you brought them home. I also always like to ask if theres any special features of the room-a passed down stuffed animal, a picture of a loved one or maybe an outfit you got from someone special. Those small details are something I want to make sure we incorporate into your newborn gallery. We also spent sometime in the primary bedroom, getting some cozy, cuddly photos of Dylan on the bed-her favorite spot; and wrapped up the session with a few more snuggled up photos on the couch.
