Sunset Surprise: Chelsea & Logan's Picture-Perfect Proposal on Coffee Pot Bayou

Being a Tampa and St. Petersburg wedding photographer has its perks, especially when you get to witness love stories unfolding. Luckily for me, I get to witness major parts of peoples love stories, and the proposal chapter of Chelsea and Logans was absolutely breathtaking. Chelsea and Logan's proposal on Coffee Pot Bayou at sunset was one such unforgettable occasion.

When Logan reached out to book me for the session, I knew it was going to be special. Having known Chelsea since our high school and graduating from the same program at the University of Florida, I was thrilled to capture their once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Logan's attention to detail was impressive. He meticulously planned every aspect of the proposal, from the picnic setup to the surprise appearance of their families with champagne. Even his diagrams outlining the parking spot showed his dedication to making this moment perfect for Chelsea.

As they approached in Logans truck, Chelsea knew instantly as she got out the car and spotted me, a hilarious “It’s Sophie!” was the background sound to my behind the scenes videos I was taking for her. There was a picnic setup and Logan popped the question overlooking the water in St. Pete.

We then began taking some photos and I could see their families approaching in the distance, so I told them to hold hands and do some walking shots to me and at the perfect moment I told them to turn and walk away from me, and their families were right behind them in the shot waiting with Champage. Chelsea's surprise at seeing their families was priceless, and such a joyous moment.

There was champagne toasts, lots of family embraces and photos, and then we wrapped up the evening by taking some gorgeous golden hour portraits before they all headed out to dinner to celebrate over dinner and drinks.

I can’t wait to see what these two come up with for their wedding day, if the proposal is any indication at the level of detail they will have- it will be second to none.
